Fabrizio Petrossi (born in Naples in 1966) is an Italian artist, known for his comic book and illustration work for Disney.
Born in Naples (Italy) in 1966, Fabrizio Petrossi started working for Disney in 1992. His first drawings were published in the Italian magazine Topolino, which features the adventures of Mickey Mouse and the Duck family.
From 1995 to 2003, he worked in Disney’s Merchandising and Publishing department (under Disney Consumer Products) in Paris as the chief character designer. During the same period, he also trained new illustrators for the company in several countries. In 2003, he returned to comic books, contributing to Pif Gadget and SpongeBob SquarePants.
In 2004, he created the comic album Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, based on the animated film of the same name. In 2010, he assisted Lorenzo Mattotti in character design for the film Pinocchio by director and screenwriter Enzo D’Alò (2012). He also worked on the comic adaptation of Epic Mickey: The Power of Two (2012).
In 2018, he created the album Mickey à travers les siècles (a revival of the classic French comic by Pierre Fallot and Pierre Nicolas) as part of the Disney by Glénat collection. For Scrooge McDuck’s 75th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Picsou Magazine, he illustrated the cover of issue 563, released on July 6, 2022. He also designed the layout for a new edition of Le Journal de Mickey, released on August 31, 2022. On November 9, 2022, he illustrated the album Scrooge McDuck: The Dragon of Glasgow once again for the Disney by Glénat collection, with Joris Chamblain writing the script. With this story, the two authors explore Scrooge McDuck’s youth.
